Artis Gilmore, together with fellow basketball legend Bill Walton and current NBA players, lend a hand with HABITAT FOR HUMANITY in the effort to help rebuild New Orleans.

ARTIS HELPS OUT IN KATRINA RECOVERY EFFORTS

NBA legends Darryl Dawkins and Artis Gilmore visited troops in Gulfport, Miss who are assisting in Hurricane Katrina relief efforts. They signed autographs, posed for photos at the Naval Construction Battalion Center and dined withservice members during their stay. Gilmore and Dawkins are also scheduled to spend time visiting Seabees working off-site on humanitarian projects. USO opened new satellite locations in Alabama, Louisiana and Mississippi to provide temporary housing, food and clothing to military families from those bases destroyed or damaged by the hurricane.

Artis was in the Persian Gulf along with other NBA legends as part of the USO tour to entertain our troops.

May 5, 2005: The City of Louisville honored the 30 year anniversary of the Kentucky Colonels ABA Championship with events featuring star center, Artis Gilmore, plus nearly all of A-Trains teammates and coach Hubie Brown. The entire team was inducted into the Kentucky Sports Hall Of Fame...the first entire team to be recognized in that way. The team was also selected as official parade marshalls for the Kentucky Derby and attended the derby as guests of honor.

April, 2005: Artis participated in a promotional event in Belding, Michigan on behalf of Stahlin Non-Metallic Enclosures. He provided support for the ompany's print and electronic broadcast efforts to highlight its ControlTower series of electrical enclosures --- products that are even larger than A-Train himself! A group of local kids helped out as the Belding All Star Basketball Team.
